Queen Elizabeth Prize for Engineering 2017

for the creation of digital imaging sensors

Eric R. Fossum, Nobukazu Teranishi, Michael F. Tompsett, George Smith*

“The Queen Elizabeth Prize for Engineering is a global £1 million prize that celebrates a ground-breaking innovation in engineering. The prize rewards an individual or team of engineers whose work has had a major impact on humanity.” -QEPrize.org

The QE Prize is essentially the Nobel Prize for Engineering, since there is no Nobel Prize for Engineering. My share of the prize went to support the National Inventors Hall of Fame Camp Invention program in New Hampshire, and the Talcott Mountain Science Center in Avon, Connecticut.
